Carol Ann Ozark

March 26, 2012

Carol Ann Ozark of New Port Richey formerly of Oak Lawn, Illinois. Carol passed away on March 26, 2012 at her home under the care of Hospice. She leaves behind her beloved Husband Arthur J. Ozark, Children; Son, Matthew Ozark and his Wife Kimberly, Son, Steven Ozark and his Wife Julia, Daughter Paula Eberiga and her Husband Richard. Carol’s beloved grandchildren are Megan, Katie, Ashley, Nicole, Shauna, Sterling and Hanna.
Carol was born in Chicago, then wed to Art, and they moved to Oak Lawn where they raised their family for many years before moving to Florida.
Carol loved to read, do crosswords, watch sunsets, be by the water, swim and water ski. She also loved to dance, especially the “Jitterbug” and the “Cha-cha”. She was a loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. Carol taught each of her children and grandchildren to read before they went to kindergarten.
Some of her most favorite memories were when the entire family went on a cruise for she and Art’s 50th wedding anniversary. They all cherished the time they spent going to the Lake of the Ozarks where they spent one week a year since the mid 1960’s.
Carol was a smoker and passed away from lung cancer, so to encourage her grandchildren to refrain from smoking Carol has bequeathed $1,000 for each of her grandchildren at the age of 18 and again at age 21 IF they do not take up the habit of smoking or any drugs. Carol realized that all of her grandchildren are currently smoke free and could not ask for a better gift than to leave them with healthy lives.
Please feel free to leave comments or loving stories that you may have for Carol’s family.

Mom, You will be missed so immensely that words can not convey my heart. Thank you for being my rock and my safe place. My encouragement and my mentor. My teacher and my motivator. My listening ear and my cheerleader. My mother and my best friend. Mom, you exuded love, laughter, nurturing  and beauty all of your days – Your legacy lives on within your children and grandchildren who love and cherish you dearly and who will keep you and all of your loving deposits in our hearts and lives throughout eternity. I love and miss you so very much that I can hardly bear it …but I know we’ll meet in heaven my wonderful and precious momma…until then…”ILY”

Momma taught me the gift of expressing myself in words yet I have no way to convey all that is in my heart.  Mom was, and is, a living angel.  She lived her life in service to the people she loved, and the people she came in contact with.   She was, and is, a beautiful light, truly God’s child.  I felt she realized some of this before her passing.

Momma was the caregiver to everyone, but was reluctant to ask for help for herself.  That was hard.  It was beautiful to watch Dad transform into Mom’s nature as caregiver.  They are truly soulmates forever.

I think Momma held on so long only for the love of her loved ones.  Through all, she gave that beautiful smile, poignant comment, observant eye.  And always, that loving heart, that gave so much to all of us

My nana was truly a beautiful person inside and out. She had an old and wise soul that would always want to break out to have fun. I have so many cherished memories of her. She was my inspiration and one of my muses who encouraged me to be creative. She taught me to read when I was little, which is one of my most prized accomplishments and she was the one who gave me that gift. I remember the beach glass and the dancing and the love. She will be missed everyday and is loved by many. Nana, I love you so much and I know that you are at peace right now and now watching over your family as the perfect guardian angel. See you again one day. <3
