Agnes Griffin

August 5, 2011

Agnes Griffin passed away August 5, 2011. Agnes was born in Victor Iowa. She lived in Bayonet Point. Her survivors include her son Gary and daughter-in-law Sharon and grandchildren Brian, Michelle, and Julie. Agnes devoted most of her life as a Mother and Grandmother and worked as a Hostess in the restaurant business. She was an energetic person who had a zest for life. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
What can I say about my mother?
She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Brian , Michelle , Julie, my wife Sharon and me.
After a brief illness she passed away.
I am happy that we we had so many years together. She taught me about life and hope. So many great memories in my heart. Mother loved to play cards and dominoes. She always talked about her wednesday card parties with her sisters and friends. She would stand in front of the TV and not sit for Gator football big plays!! Mother watched every Tampa Bay Rays baseball game, even the late west coast games and she would call me on the big plays, if we weren’t together.
She loved to feed stray animals.
I don’t think that she is far away, if i listen with my heart and close my eyes I can see her smile. She was my mentor and my mother. I thank you for your love mother.
Love, your son Gary.

I will miss Aunt Aggie’s zest for life and her wonderful way of greeting me with her ever-joyful, “Carol Annie!” She was a wonderful Godmother and Aunt, as well as a fun-loving, bright spot in my world. I always felt her love ~ whether she was in the room, sending me a picture of herself with her kitties or across the country speaking to me on the telephone. I know Mom will miss her greatly and is so happy that she recently was able to spend time with her and Aunt Lucy in Florida. I agree with you, Gary, that she doesn’t seem far away. She is forever nearby in our hearts and I can feel her presence and love easily. Love never dies ~ it only changes form and shape…………we will forever have our sweet Aunt Aggie with us. I’m sorry for the loss that Gary, Sharon, Brian, Michelle and Julie will experience. Please know that you are all loved and that your family will be here for you at all times.
I love you, Aggie and I love you, Gary and family. Carol

    Gary,
Our prayers and thoughts have been with you during this difficult time. Such a nice tribute that you wrote about your mother. May the peace which comes from these memories of experiences and the love shared by your mother provide comfort and give you strength now and in the days ahead. Your Mother was very special to me Gary. She embraced me and took me into her heart. She allowed me the privilege to call her “Mom”, for that I will be eternally grateful.

    Your friend,

    Stuart
